About Us
Warren and Deborah Swenson are the co-producers of the Cajun Christmas Tales. Warren Swenson is a native New Yorker. Growing up in New York he always looked forward to the Christmas season starting with the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade and the lighting of the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center and all the store windows with their Christmas themes. He migrated to south Louisiana in his mid-teens. In his own words, “it was quite a culture shock.” He would later become the CFO of the world-famous Gumbo Shop in New Orleans famed French Quarter. One block removed from Jackson Square he would spend his lunch hour in the Square enjoying the artist and performers. However, during the Christmas season the Square was empty. Sitting there in the square he began to think about the unique Christmas culture in Louisiana and the amazing talent that was everywhere around him. It was there that the concept of Captain Jacque Pierre and the Cajun Christmas Tales was born. Later he was joined by his wife Deborah who helped develop her own unique character in the person of Jolie, Captain Jacque Pierre’s wife. As a grandmother of an adorable red headed blue eyed grandchild her love and nurturing instincts are reflected through Jolie to children everywhere. Her paralegal background makes her an excellent partner when it comes to research and details that has been a vital part of developing characters and stories for the Cajun Christmas Tales. Together Warren and Deborah Swenson, also known as Captain Jacque and Jolie Pierre look forward to sharing Louisiana’s unique Christmas culture with children, young and old, everywhere.
